Project Overview
Additive manufacturing and 3D printing technologies are transforming research, industry, and modern education. The Education 3D project brings together leading educational institutions, research labs, and schools across the Upper Rhine region (Oberrhein / Rhin Supérieur) to integrate 3D design and digital fabrication technologies into STEM (MINT) education.
At the Laboratory of Process Technology (NeptunLab) at the Department of Microsystems Engineering (IMTEK), University of Freiburg, we leverage our expertise in microsystems, materials science, and additive manufacturing to support educators and students with hands-on technical concepts, workshops, and innovative learning tools.
Core Objectives / Projektziele
- Hands-on STEM Learning: Developing accessible educational concepts and 3D-printed learning materials for schools.
- Teacher Training & Workshops: Hosting workshops and training sessions for educators on CAD modeling, 3D printing workflows, and technology integration.
- Cross-Border Exchange: Fostering collaboration and digital partnerships (Schultandems) between German and French schools in the Upper Rhine region.
- Technology Dissemination: Demonstrating real-world applications of additive manufacturing at public events, school visits, and educational congresses.
Interreg Funding & Partnership / Partner und Förderung
The project Education 3D is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg VI Upper Rhine (Oberrhein / Rhin Supérieur) program, supporting cross-border regional development and educational innovation.
