CAMF2

The NeptunLab has always had a strong focus in microfluidics. The work includes design, optimization and operation of microfluidic systems for applications in fundamental research all the way to industrial applications.

Design development and prototyping is facilitated by numerous processes and manufacturing systems developed in-house. This includes maskless projection lithography as well as state-of-the-art infrastructure for micromachining of metals, silicon and polymers.

Applications

The lab has fostered numerous international collaborations over the years which has given the microfluidic design activities a very broad scope of applications ranging from cell biology, biochemistry, industrial biotechnology, microreaction technology all the way to applications in industrial settings.

  • Microfluidic periphery for biosensor applications
  • Tools for cell biology (cell extraction, cell immobilization)
  • Microreaction technology in highly chemical resistant materials such as fluorinated polymers or "Liquid Glass"
